POSITIVE POSTPONEMENT
She welcomed the postponement of the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo as it gave her a chance of competing at the Games. She returned to competitive action in late 2020 after tearing her Achilles tendon in 2017 and undergoing three operations. She had previously sustained a finger injury that ruled her out of competing at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro and her performances at the 2012 Games in London were hampered by a foot injury. "Last year [2020] was a more positive experience for me and the cancellation of the Olympics was more pleasant news because it was kind of a chance to compete at the Olympics, especially when I found out it was possible that I could still qualify. I went through a lot of difficult moments, but I never gave up to the idea of doing gymnastics. It was hard to perish for so long, but now I'm fine. I can say that I like what I do so much, so I decided to give myself another chance to prove to myself that I can still do it."
