MEMORABLE PERFORMANCE
She represented the United States of America at the 2015 World Championships in Glasgow, Scotland, where she was part of the squad that won gold in the team competition. In qualification, she successfully performed a piked double front somersault in the floor exercise, which is now known as 'the Dowell'. Her floor exercise music also failed to play during qualification, so she performed her routine without accompaniment. "I went because I didn't want to get a zero." (kshb.com, 18 Apr 2016)
UNIVERSITY DEFERRAL
After a year competing in the National Collegiate Athletic Association [NCAA] with the University of Oklahoma in the United States of America, she decided to defer her sophomore year. One of her main motivations for returning to elite gymnastics was to earn a place on the US team for the 2015 World Championships in Glasgow, Scotland. "I just felt like I had some unfinished business here." (kshb.com, 18 Apr 2016; gymnastike.org, 24 Aug 2015; beamdreams.com, 09 Jun 2015)
