Reason for taking up the sport
Her mother, a rhythmic gymnastics coach, took her to the gym where she was working. "I was in the gym all the time, playing with the apparatus. I started training with mum and when I was ready to move on to compete in a professional way we just practised more. Most memorable sporting achievement

BAKU CONNECTION
Both of her parents were born in Baku, Azerbaijan, where she won bronze in the hoop event at the European championships and silver in the team event at world championships, both in 2019. "My parents are from Baku, and when I came here for the 2014 European Championships, they showed me the city, the house where they lived, and other sights. The gymnastics hall in Baku is amazing and the audience supports everyone, and it really helps to perform well."
