TOKYO ISOLATION
She was selected as a travelling alternate for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. However, she spent 11 days in isolation before returning home after another travelling alternate, who was also her roommate on the US team, tested positive for COVID-19. "I was just really disappointed in my experience, and I just really wanted to train more and just get the real experience of competing outside the country." BUSINESS OWNER
She runs her own gymnastics apparel company called Leanne Wong Bowtique. "I feel like the bow is probably the easiest to make out of everything compared to like shoes, leggings or a shirt or something. So, that's where my first bow came to life. I've been really fortunate just to create my own website. I actually designed it and created it in December of 2021. So, during that winter break, I was just working really hard on that to get it started. Training for both college gymnastics and elite gymnastics is a lot [speaking in 2023], but I like to say that my bow business is like my free time, my down time, something I just enjoy doing."
