OVERCOMING INJURIES
She has suffered multiple injuries throughout her career but says she has become mentally stronger as a result. "These ups and downs are lessons that make us stronger and show us what we're made of. They also show us that we are human and that there will always be things that are out of our control, and we just have to make the best of what we've been dealt and be supportive of one another. Mentally I consider myself to be stronger than ever. I see my goals so clearly, and I have a huge respect for my body. I feel in touch with myself, in sync. That helps my coach and me a lot to know when we can push further and have tough workouts and when to go back to basics, or even rest. Being an older gymnast has given me these new tools."
