Sporting relatives
Her older sister Sloane has competed in artistic gymnastics at international level. She was part of the US team that finished first in the team event at the 2019 Gymnix International in Montreal, QC, Canada. (usagym.org, 20 Aug 2018)
Injuries
She ruptured the ulnar collateral ligament [UCL] ligament in her left elbow prior to the US Olympic Trials ahead of the 2020 Olympic Games. She underwent surgery in July 2021 and took seven months to recover. (olympics.com, 03 Aug 2023; dallasnews.com, 19 Oct 2022; insidegymnastics.com, 08 Jul 2022; Instagram profile, 11 Aug 2021)

An injury kept her out of competition for all of 2017. (flogymnastics.com, 17 Aug 2018)
Start sporting career
She took up gymnastics in 2008.
Reason for taking up the sport
She was inspired to join her first gymnastics team by her sister Sloane. "My mother wanted to add another activity in addition to ballet and tap [dancing]. I love my sister to death and she was my first role model, you know. I always wanted to be like her and do what she was doing."
Ambitions
To compete at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. (insidegymnastics.com, 08 Jul 2022)
Trainings
She trains six days a week.
Most influential person in career
Her sister Sloane. (insidegymnastics.com, 08 Jul 2022)
Philosophy / Motto
"Take things one day at a time and turn my dreams into reality." (insidegymnastics.com, 08 Jul 2022)
Additional information
MOTIVATIONAL NOTES
She places sticky notes around her home as a motivational tool and to remind her of her ambitions. "A couple of weeks after I had [elbow] surgery [in 2021], I just had been thinking about when my first meet back would be. Once I found out when the Winter Cup was, I wrote it down on a note card and put it on the door so I saw it every day. That motivated me every day to get back, get back stronger. Something that inspires me or something I want to get to, I write it down and I put it somewhere where I can see it often because I feel like that encourages me and reminds me of where I want to be." (olympics.com, 03 Aug 2023)

MISSING TOKYO
She sustained an elbow injury at the US Olympic Trails ahead of the 2020 Olympic Games. She required surgery and missed the chance to compete at the Games in Tokyo. "It was hard. It was very disappointing and I think it really shocked me. It's something I wasn't prepared for. It was just hard knowing I missed probably one of the biggest opportunities of my life, at least at that moment. Picking myself back up was hard but I worked with a sports psychologist and began looking ahead to the future and all the opportunities I have." (insidegymnastics.com, 08 Jul 2022)

UNIVERSITY COMMITMENT
She has committed to study at the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL, United States of America. "I'll be going in the fall of 2024, right after the Olympics [in Paris]. I will use this time to continue to train at home to pursue my goal of making it to the Olympics."
